Mystery at the Wedding

A group of guests looking at cards from "Mystery at the Wedding"

Mystery at the Wedding is a print-and-play, personalised or fully custom Cluedo-style social mystery game, designed to be played during a wedding or wedding celebration.

PURCHASE GAME

Design background

The game was originally designed for my wedding in 2022 under the name Theft at the Ticky Museum. We wanted a game that would entertain guests during the drinks reception when the bridal party would be busy with official photography. We hoped that by designing this game, guests would have an easy way to start conversations with people they didn’t know.

We expected our gamer friends to be keen, but were blown away by how many guests got stuck right in! Even our non-gamer friends and family were swapping clues and sharing notes throughout the reception, and seven people got the right answer at the end of the game.

Why have a mystery game at your wedding?

Mystery at the Wedding is the ideal wedding entertainment for any couples with a passion for board games, video games, escape rooms, murder mysteries, or who just want something a little more unusual and memorable for their guests to enjoy.

Rather than dominating, it is designed to fit seamlessly into your wedding day. Most couples choose to start the game at the beginning of the drinks reception, when the bridal party is busy taking official photos. Guests can collect their clue cards and discuss them with friends and family while catching up. They also work as easy conversation starters for those who are meeting each other for the first time at the wedding.

There is no requirement for guests to participate – anyone who chooses to sit out can just decline to take a clue or pass it on to someone else. You will be provided with at least two copies of each clue, so it won’t prevent others from finding the solution.

How to purchase Mystery at the Wedding

Three different versions of Mystery at the Wedding are available to purchase, depending on the customisation level you would like.

Mystery at the Wedding: Print-and-Play is a print-and-play game available to download. The mystery is a missing wedding cake, stolen by a member of your bridal party. £10 (download only, printing not included) – COMING SOON

Mystery at the Wedding: Stolen Cake is a personalised and printed version of the print-and-play game, featuring the names of the bride and groom and your bridal party, a range of options for wedding locations and cake flavours, and design options for colour scheme and fonts to coordinate with your wedding. £100 + print fee (depends on guest count)

Mystery at the Wedding: Museum Theft is a fully customised version with bespoke clues. The mystery is a theft from your “relationship museum”, which contains artefacts key to your relationship. I will work with you to create a unique game that reflects your relationship, interests and the vibe of your special day. £350 + print fee (depends on guest count)
